Cameron is a really great teacher and I enjoy my lessons with him each week a lot. This year he has let me try a wide variety of pieces, which has been a lot of fun. He has been encouraging and helpful as well, and helped a lot for the grade 3 piano exam I sat in November 2017, helping me to achieve 141/150. This took me to the ABRSM High Scorers Concert which was a great experience, and wouldn’t have been possible without him. He has also let me pick up my own pieces out of practice time which has been fun. He has been an awesome teacher and I am looking forward to this year! Elijah (age 11)

Cameron has been our son’s teacher for about 3 years. During that time we have consistently found Cameron’s teaching to be of an excellent standard. He is warm, engaging, and encouraging in his manner with our son. Using his wide range of experiences, he has inspired our son in his exploration of music, both in playing the piano and theory, in addition to other areas such as composition. He consistently listens to what our son expresses an interest in and provides opportunities to pursue those areas / pieces also. He navigates a great balance between encouraging our son to strive to do his best (for example when preparing for an exam) and enjoying music for its’ own sake. We are very happy with the results of Cameron’s teaching also, with our son achieving a very high grade in his recent exam, as well as all the time developing his love and passion for music. Cameron is very approachable, communicating easily and effectively with us as parents, and is always keen to work as a partnership between student, teacher and parent. Cameron not only teaches, but inspires his students’ interest at music as well, which is more important than learning a musical instrument itself. My 8yo daughter said ‘Cameron really knows how to teach’ after her first lesson. 😄😄

Thanks Cameron for teaching all my children (three of them). They are really enjoying going to the lessons and practising at home. Cameron is a really professional music teacher and great with kids as well as adult students. One of my children is a university student who really enjoys learning the piano from Cameron. Cameron teaches them individually at their own levels and really encourages them.  He gives them rewards and has a music concert to encourage them to love music. Learning piano is great and fun to do!

Cameron became my piano teacher in June 2017. My desire to learn came from experience of our children taking piano lessons 25 years ago, having an unused piano at home and because of the emotional response I have to music pieces I like – I wanted to understand the theory and practice of why I have this response to music. I find in Cameron’s teaching skill the right mix of the academic and the joy of music.

Along with his patient instruction, Cameron encourages my desire to find the joy in the music by playing pieces as they should be played and challenging me to hear to subtleties and nuances that gives them their style or make them joyful, or sad, or pretty, or whatever the characteristic is that makes them what they are. Cameron is a good academic teacher of theory and his marking style is instructive but fair.

On a personal note, Cameron’s lessons are welcoming and open experiences, full of encouragement to ask questions and to overcome deficiencies or problems. In my case, he has many of these to overcome, and it is a testament to his skill as a teacher that I would highly recommend him as a piano tutor.

My two kids have been going to Cameron for 2 years and they really enjoy the music lessons. Cameron’s lessons are well planned and engaging. He is a thoughtful teacher who helps students learn through fun. He is able to adjust the lessons to cater for individual needs.

Cameron also offers music theory – exam revision classes. He has helped my oldest son to prepare for his Grade 5 ABRSM music theory exam.  Cameron ensured that all important topics were covered and he went the extra mile designing online tests to challenge my kid. It was very helpful and we’re pleased with the excellent exam results.

I have no hesitation in recommending Cameron as a music teacher to other parents/students.
